What is the metronome in the player?

The player includes a metronome you can use to keep a steady rhythm during a session.
Turn it on in the player when you want a tempo guide, and leave it off when you would rather just listen.

How to turn it on

  • Open a session so the player is on screen.

  • Find the metronome option in the player.

  • Turn it on. It runs alongside the session audio rather than replacing it.

You can switch it off at any point without stopping the session.

When a tempo guide helps

  • When you want an audible anchor to come back to as your attention drifts.

  • When you are keeping an even pace and would rather hear it than count.

  • When a soundscape has no obvious beat of its own and a steady pulse helps you settle.

It is a tool, not a requirement. Plenty of sessions work better without it, and nothing in the app expects you to use it.

In a Breathwork session

Breathwork already has an audio guide that marks inhale, hold and exhale, so it gives you the timing without a metronome.
If you turn both on, decide which one you are actually following, otherwise two sources of rhythm will pull against each other.

If you cannot find it or cannot hear it

  • Make sure the player is open. The option belongs to the player, not to your Profile settings.

  • Check your device volume and that the session itself is audible.

  • Confirm you are on the latest version of Ombient from the App Store or Google Play.

If it still does not appear, write to us from Contact Us in your Profile or at [email protected] and tell us which session you had open and your device.
